2017 Ford Fusion (facelift) spotted testing in Brazil – Spied
Aravind Jayachandran, It goes without saying that I'm a huge petrolhead and can apparently convert all my driving emotions into words you can read.
Will get a re-designed front and rear fascias.
The 2017 Ford Fusion facelift (2017 Ford Mondeo globally) is currently undergoing testing in Brazil, and AutosSegredos has managed to snap the upcoming mid-size sedan. Judging by the areas that Ford have wrapped in camouflage, the lights, grille and bumper would receive tweaks.
In April, spyshots of the Fusion’s international model, the Ford Mondeo, from China, exposed the final design of the front and rear fascias of the scheduled facelift. If the Ford Fusion ends up borrowing cues from the leaked Chinese-spec facelifted Ford Mondeo, it will get an upright front end with a taller grille new headlight graphics, and wraparound taillamps without the kink.
The interior of the test mule appears to be identical to the current model. It could retire the conventional gear stick selector for a rotary dial unit, similar to the new Ford Taurus. Expect new color customizations and leather upholstery, as well as an upgraded SYNC infotainment system to be offered in the facelifted model.
Under the hood, the facelifted Fusion is likely to offer the same 1.5-liter EcoBoost petrol producing 181 hp, a 2.0-liter EcoBoost petrol making 203 hp and a high-performance variant with 242 hp of power, and the 2.5-liter petrol producing 175 hp and 237.2 Nm. The engines could be paired to the same 6-speed ‘SelectShift’ automatic transmission, except for the 141 hp 2.0-liter Fusion Hybrid that comes with a CVT.
The 2017 Ford Fusion will reportedly go on sale in 2016 in North America, followed by a launch in the South American Market.
