Over 50 percent opt for the ABS variant.
According to a report by the PTI, Bajaj Auto will more than double production of its latest sportsbike, the Pulsar RS200 to cater to increasing demand. The publication was told by Eric Vas, president of Bajaj Auto’s motorcycle business, that production will be ramped up from about 1,700 units a month to 4,000 units a month.
Launched in March this year, the RS200 was expected to sell 2,500 units a month according to the company’s estimate. Among the initial lot of bookings received, over 50 percent of buyers opted for the top-end variant fitted with ABS, a first on the Pulsar nameplate.
Priced at INR 1.18 lakhs for the standard variant and INR 1.3 lakhs for the ABS model (ex-Showroom, New Delhi), the Pulsar RS200 is available for sale across 56 cities in India. The motorcycle has not gone on sale pan-India yet, due to production constraints, Mr. Vas told the publication.
Based on the same platform as the Pulsar 200 NS, the Pulsar RS200 is powered by a 199.5 cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine capable of 24.5 PS and 18.6 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. The RS200 can achieve a top-speed of 141 km/h, claims Bajaj Auto.
