Seen here is the interior of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT, which is reported to be unveiled on September 9. The SLS AMG successor is being teased regularly by Mercedes, and several details have been announced as well.
Power for the car will come from a newly-developed 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 510 PS (502 bhp) and 650 Nm of torque. The new engine weighs 209 kg and its turbochargers have a maximum speed of 186,000 rpm. It will be paired to a dual-clutch automatic gearbox which will catapult the AMG GT from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and onwards to a top-speed of 312 km/h.
If reports are to be believed, the same engine with a lower state of tune of 462 PS (455.5 bhp) will be introduced in the AMG GT a few months later. The new engine will also power the new C63 AMG. The AMG GT is the second vehicle to have been fully developed by AMG. The Mercedes-owned company was responsible for developing the SLS AMG prior to this.
Mercedes's AMG products have turned out to be good brand shapers in India, and an Indian market launch of the AMG GT is expected next year.
