The technical specifications of the Bajaj Discover 150 S which was apparently delivered to a customer ahead of its formal launch on August 11, has been uploaded by Bikes India.
The new Discover 150 S' air-cooled engine displaces 144.8 cc and employs 4 valves. The motor dishes out 14.5 PS (14.29 bhp) at 8,500 rpm and 12.75 Nm at 6,500 rpm. As reported earlier, the gearbox is a 5-speed unit with all-up shift pattern.
In terms of dimension, the new Discover 150 S measures 2,038 mm in length, 714 mm in width, 1,070 mm in height and 1,305 mm in wheelbase. Saddle height and ground clearance stand at 795 mm and 165 mm respectively. The front tyre is of size 80/100-17 while the rear tyre measures 100/90-17.
The base variant of the Discover 150 S gets drum brakes at both ends while the top end variant offers a disc brake upfront. The motorcycle has a fuel tank capacity of 10 litres (unusable reserve of 1.6 litre) while the kerb weights of drum and disc variants stand at 129 kg and 130 kg respectively.
Though positioned as a premium commuter, the new Discover 150 S boasts of a better power-to-weight ratio than the more upmarket but aging Pulsar 150.
The specifications of the Bajaj Discover 150 F which gets a semi-fairing are unknown but except for a marginally higher kerb weight, nothing is expected to change. Both motorcycles come with a rear monoshock suspension.
