The 2014 Ssangyong Stavic, also known the Ssangyong Rodius, a behemoth of an SUV, has been listed in a Malaysian car portal Oto.my, suggesting that the car has reached Malaysia and is waiting to be launched soon.
The pictures show a brand new car complete with the interior lamination intact. The status of the car in the ad says its brand new and we suspect it was photographed in a dealer yard in Malaysia (the RHD configuration being a strong indicator).
The Stavic is called as Rodius in Europe and as Korando Turismo in South Korea. The gigantic SUV measures 5.13 metres and can seat 11 people.
The Stavic for the Malaysian market will offer a 2.0 litre diesel engine mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. The oil burner has power and torque output of 155PS and 360Nm respectively.
The car comes packed with features like multiple airbags, ABS, ESP, music system with Bluetooth and AUX-in connectivity, GPS navigation, leather seats, multi zone climate control and rear parking sensors.
The estimated price of the Stavic in Malaysia is 117,000 Ringgits (around Rs. 22.2 lakhs).
It is to be noted that the SUV has been spotted in India recently implying that parent company Mahindra is studying its feasibility in our market. With generous seating capacity, the car would appeal to a well off, joint Indian family. Price wise, it would compete with the Toyota Fortuner.
