China is undoubtedly the most important market for the all-new Mercedes S Class. Given the technology and the comfort it offers, it would be easily lapped up by the Chinese customers who love their long wheelbase limousines.

The new S Class lineup is made up of the S350 BlueTEC which is powered by a 3.5 litre 258bhp V6 diesel, followed by the S500 which is powered by a 455 bhp 4.7 litre V8 petrol motor.

Then there are two hybrid variants namely S300 BlueTEC Hybrid and S400 Hybrid. The former employs a 2.1 litre four cylinder petrol engine coupled to a hybrid drivetrain to produce 204 bhp. The latter uses the 3.5 litre diesel engine to belt out a combined output of 306 bhp.

The petrol and petrol hybrid variants are expected to be popular in China.
