Spied – Hyundai Grand i10 gets rear aircon vents, push button start, upmarket dashboard
As a toddler, those wheeled machinery fascinated me even before I knew what they’re called as! So here I’m, petrolhead by birth, Mechanical engineer by qualification and automotive reporter by profession!
With the launch scheduled to take place tomorrow, spyshots of the Hyundai Grand i10 (next gen Hyundai i10) have appeared all over the web.
These images came from our reader Bhavendrasinh Rana this evening. From his images, we learn that the dashboard of the Grand i10 has been significantly improved over the old i10 which will continue to sell alongside in India.
The dual tone beige and black interior adopts a completely different design and layout. The steering wheel is chunkier, and the centre AC vents and audio system are housed in a black enclosure. Also new is the engine Start/Stop button which is located towards the right of the steering wheel. The gear shifter however remains embedded to the centre console just like the old car for good ergonomics.
The Grand i10 becomes the first car in its crop to offer rear AC vents. With extra features, new styling and added space, it will be positioned between the i10 and the i20.
The second gen hatchback comes with the 1.2 litre Kappa2 petrol engine that it shares with i10. Importantly, the new car also gets a 1.1 litre three-cylinder diesel unit that puts out 71PS and 160 Nm of torque. Both engines come paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
