Yet again, the facelift of the Renault Fluence was caught testing in Europe. In this instance, the modestly camouflaged test mule was snapped in Turkey by a reader of hdaraba.com.
The Fluence was introduced to the world in 2009 and since then it has been launched in many parts of the world.
In India, it was the first car to come out after Renault plotted a fresh, independent Indian innings. The diesel version of the car may not have blown away the market, but its contribution in severing the connections people used to make between Renault and the Logan is significant. The Fluence, along with the Koleos, performed well as brand shapers for Renault India.
Renault India introduced an improved version of the Fluence earlier this year after customers complained of turbo lag and lack of oomph. The EV version was launched in Europe late last year, don't forget to read our review of that path-breaking sedan.
Renault has provided a range of powertrain in the European market. Upgrades have been continuous, but there was no need for a facelift as the Fluence had not been around for a long time.
Either at next month's Paris Motor Show or at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2013, Renault will introduce the facelift of the Fluence seen testing above.
The spyshots and the leaked image expose its visual similarities to the fourth generation Clio. The headlights, grille and front bumper have sharpened the car's stance, while the camouflage at the rear may mask a revised boot lid, tail lights and applique.
