The Yamaha Xabre has been launched in Indonesia at an on-road Jakarta price of IDR 29.8 million (INR 1.46 lakhs), in the presence of Valentino Rossi, the company's brand ambassador. The model was presented alongside the Yamaha Aerox 125, Yamaha MIO-Z and the Yamaha Mio Fino 125. It is positioned between the Yamaha V-Ixion and the Yamaha R15 in terms of price, and is available in three colours - matte grey, silver and matte black.
The Xabre was globally unveiled and launched in Thailand as Yamaha M-Slaz at the 2015 Thailand Motor Expo. It measures 1,959 mm in length, 795 mm in width, 1,065 mm in height, 1,350 mm in wheelbase, 164 mm in ground clearance, 805 mm in seat height, 10.2 litres in fuel tank capacity, 1.15 litres in engine oil capacity and 135 kg in kerb weight.
The Yamaha Xabre is powered by the same 150 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled FI engine with SOHC, doing duty on the R15, that is tuned to produce 16.32 PS at 8,500 rpm and 14.30 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The transmission system is a six-speed unit.

The motorcycle is based on the same diamond frame that underpins the R15 and uses an inverted telescopic fork and a monoshock on swingarm. Stopping power comes from disc brakes on both wheels, and the tyres used are of sizes 110/70-17M C 54s and 130/70-17M C 62s.
