The new 149 cc BlueCore engine comes from the FZ FI V2.0 albeit without fuel injection.
The Yamaha SZ-RR V2.0 with BlueCore technology which was leaked earlier has been launched at INR 63,500 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Cosmetically the motorcycle features three new color schemes - Red Dash, Ivory White, and Green Arrow - in addition to revised body graphics. The updated two wheeler gets tubeless tyres, a revised instrument panel and handlebar clamp with the SZ logo. The company targets married men between the ages of 24 to 35 years with its 150 cc premium commuter motorcycle.
The most significant change is the new 149 cc engine that is borrowed from the FZ FI V2.0 however, the SZ-RR makes do with a conventional carburetor. The BlueCore technology which involves a collection of fuel efficiency enhancing measures is claimed to improve the mileage by 11%.
The engine produces 12.1 PS (11.9 bhp) at 7,500 rpm and 12.8 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, and is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The rest of the bike continues unchanged.

In terms of equipment, the SZ-RR V2.0 BlueCore offers electric start and a front disc brake. The suspension setup includes a front telescopic fork and conventional coil spring rear shock absorbers.
