Yamaha has showcased its flagship transcontinental touring model, the Yamaha Star Venture at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. Here are the tourer’s live pictures from the show.
The Yamaha Star Venture is a fully loaded touring motorcycle, designed for long distance journeys. The motorcycle features a high-output audio system and a large touch and voice controlled infotainment system. Music, navigation, communications and vehicle systems are integrated into the system. Grip warmers, and heated seats for both rider and passenger come standard.
Powering the Yamaha Star Venture is a 1,854cc OHV V-Twin engine with air-cooling and fuel injection. The engine features counterbalancers for refined ride, and generates 170 Nm of torque. Ride-by-wire controls the throttle, and there are two throttle response settings in the Yamaha D-mode. The Touring Mode is for relaxed rides, and the Sport Mode is apt for sharper response. The engine pairs with a 6-speed transmission, and a belt drive transfers the power to the rear wheel. Integrated cruise control, traction control, Unified Brake System and ABS are all standard.
Coming to the cycle parts, the Star Venture is blessed with 46 mm telescopic front fork, and a rear monoshock with remote preload adjustment. For anchorage, the motorcycle employs dual 298 mm front discs and a single 320 mm rear disc. The 18-inch front and 16-inch rear alloy wheels are shod with 130-section and 200-section Bridgestone Exedra tyres respectively.
For more convenient parking, the motorcycle comes with a new Yamaha Sure-Park System which uses an electric motor for low-speed forward and reverse movements. The motorcycle is available in the US market from December, this year, with prices starting from 24,999 MSRP.
