Positioned below the regular Saluto.
India Yamaha Motor today launched the Yamaha Saluto RX, at a price of INR 46,400, ex-Showroom, New Delhi. The Saluto RX slots below the Yamaha Saluto which is priced at INR 52,600.
The key difference between the Saluto RX and the Saluto is the engine. Where the Saluto gets a 125 cc engine, the Saluto RX opts for a smaller, and more fuel efficient 110 cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine. Compared to the Saluto's 78 km/l, the Saluto RX returns 82 km/l.
The Saluto RX gets a 4-speed gearbox, similar to the regular Saluto. The engine in the Saluto RX develops 7.5 PS at 7,000 rpm and 8.5 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. It weighs 98 kg, as compared to the Saluto's 112 kg, which Yamaha says is lightest in the segment. The fuel tank capacity is rated at 7.2 liters.
The Saluto RX uses a telescopic fork up front and a swingarm type suspension at the rear. Braking power comes from 130 mm drum brakes at both ends.
