India Yamaha Motor has teased a new variant of the Ray ZR, which, according to the company, is ready for launch. This new variant is likely to be the Yamaha Ray ZR Street Rally Edition.
The video focuses on the phrase ‘Get Ready to Rally’, which leads us to believe that this could be the Street Rally edition variant of the new Yamaha Ray ZR. As a reminder, the company showcased the Yamaha Ray ZR Street Rally edition at the Auto Expo 2018. The paint scheme and decals on the scooter appear similar to that of the presentation in February.
That said, the scooter in the video features black alloy wheels, while the Yamaha Ray ZR Street Rally at the Auto Expo featured golden alloys. Based on the stock Yamaha Ray ZR, the Street Rally variant features cosmetic updates like a bright red & black paint scheme, new decals and sporty body panels that accentuate the design. The Ray ZR Street Rally will rival the upcoming Suzuki Burgman Street.
The Yamaha Ray ZR Street Rally will also feature an all-new digital instrument cluster, a gas-charged rear mono-shock, aluminium footrests and a smoked engine guard. The floor pan gets an aluminium finish, while the Street Rally features triple-tone red-black-grey seat cover. The front disc calliper on the Street Rally is likely to get red paint finish.

Powering the Yamaha Ray ZR Street Rally is the same 113 cc, single-cylinder, 2-valve engine with air-cooling that powers the standard model. This motor is capable of producing 7.1 bhp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm while developing 8.1 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. The engine pairs to a CVT gearbox. Anchorage comes from disc brake up front and a rear drum brake. The Ray ZR costs INR 55,898 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the disc brake variant, so it is safe to assume that the Yamaha Ray ZR Street Rally will cost around INR 60,000 (ex-showroom).
