The R3 is yet to start global sales, as its public unveiling took place in November 2014.

Unveiled in October last year, the R3 had its public premiere at the EICMA 2014 in Milan Italy. The R3 houses a 321 cc in-line two-cylinder engine that is capable of producing 42 PS of power and 29.6 Nm of torque, transferred to the road via a six-speed transmission.

The R3 uses technology that's been derived from racing, such as, direct drive camshaft, carburized conrods, forged pistons and low friction pistons. All these help the R3 in putting out some serious performance in its class.

As yet, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Limited is yet to confirm the launch of the R25 or even the R3 for the country. Reports however state that the R25 is expected to launch by the middle of this year. It houses a 250 cc twin-cylinder liquid cooled engine and produces 31 PS of power and 22.6 Nm of torque that gets transferred to the road via a six-speed transmission.
