The Yamaha R15 v3.0 is the most powerful motorcycle in its segment.
The Yamaha R15 v3.0 has been tested by TMCBlog. The entry level sports bike registered a top speed of 137 km/h on the speedometer, while the VBox rated speed was 126.86 km/h.
At the heart of the Yamaha R15 v3.0 is a powered by a new 155.1 cc single cylinder, SOHC, liquid cooled, fuel injected mill which is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox and an assist and slipper clutch. The engine is capable of producing 19.31 PS of maximum power at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm of peak torque at 8,500 rpm.
The Yamaha R15 v3.0 also has a higher compression ratio of 11.6:1 as against the second generation model which stood at 10.4:1. The bike also gets Variable Valve Actuation which promises ideal amount of power across the rev range. The bike also gains a 1 kilo of weight and now tips the scales at 137 kg.

Interestingly the bike reached this speed in the 6th gear and still had a few ticks left in the tachometer. Given a longer empty stretch, the new Yamaha R15 v3.0 will definitely go on to a higher top speed.
The Yamaha R15 v3.0 is expected to be launched in India later this year.
