Yamaha launched the ABS-equipped YZF-R15 V3.0 in India on January 10. The dual-channel ABS-equipped R15 V3.0 ABS comes at an ex-showroom Delhi price tag of INR 1.39 lakh, a premium of INR 12,000 over the outgoing model. The installation of dual-channel ABS came as a surprise as the motorcycle’s rivals opted for a single-channel unit to keep the increase in price limited. The YZF-R15 V3.0 gets an ABS technology comes with adjustable fluid pressure. The system is aimed to ensure immediate braking on slippery roads. The YZF-R15 V3.0 is the first motorcycle in its segment to feature a dual-channel ABS.
Moreover, buyers can opt for the new colour option that Yamaha introduced along with the addition of ABS. The colour option, Darknight, can be purchased for a premium of INR 2,000 over the Racing Blue and Thunder Grey. The Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 Darknight is priced at INR 141,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The motorcycle retains all the original features such as the Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology and assist and slipper clutch. The 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine delivers maximum power output of 19.3 PS power at 10,000 rpm. Peak torque of 14.7 Nm arrives at 8,500 rpm. The engine sends power to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox.
The Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 ABS does not have a direct rival yet. The motorcycle occupies the space between the 125 Duke ABS and 200 Duke ABS that retail for INR 1.19 lakh and INR 1.60 lakh respectively (both ex-showroom Delhi prices).

In other updates, the upcoming 2019 Yamaha FZ-S was spotted undisguised ahead of the January 21 launch. The new spy images confirm features like full LED headlight with LED DRL, redesigned fuel tank with air-scoops and an engine cowl that adds a sportier look to the overall package. The 2019 FZ-S is expected to carry a premium of about INR 10,000 over the outgoing model that was sold at INR 81,540 (ex-showroom).
