Will reportedly replace the Volvo V70.
The estate version of the Volvo S90 - dubbed the Volvo V90 - is seen via a 1:43 scale model, several days after its sedan counterpart was leaked in the same fashion. Both the S90 and V90 are expected to make their debut at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show.
Up front, the design is similar to the S90 as well as the XC90, featuring a long vertical-slat grille flanked by LED headlamps with Thor hammer DRLs, and a new bumper with chrome accents. At the side, it has a muscular shoulder line, chrome bezel for the window lining, and a chrome bar in the lower portion.
Coming to the rear, the LED taillamps are inspired by the Volvo Concept Estate which take up most of the rear-end. It also sports bold Volvo lettering, and a pair of large exhaust tips.
The S90/V90 duo will ride on Volvo’s new SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) platform. Power is likely to be sourced from 2.0L Drive-E four-cylinder engines that range between 190 hp and 400 hp in output. All engines are likely to be paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, while an AWD system could be standard in higher variants.
