Renault's all new offering, the Captur has just been shown for the first time. Though the car was announced nearly two months ago, this is the first time Renault is showing its latest 'urban crossover' in flesh.
Renault says that the Captur has three key elements to it:
- The expressive styling and driving position of an SUV
- The cabin space and roomy interior of an MPV
- The agility and driving feel of a compact saloon car
The Renault Captur measures 4m and 12 inches in length. It is based on the Renault Clio platform. The crossover features mild yet elegant lines.
The interior layout is also a typical Renault thingy and features a complete black finish. The chrome embellished for lamp enclosure also incorporates daytime LED running lights.
Inside, will be the new, connected, in-dash Renault R-Link touchscreen multimedia tablet, plus a system that comprises six loudspeakers, Bluetooth® connectivity, audio-streaming and an Arkamys® hi-fi sound.
The Renault Captur is offered with an RDC dual clutch gearbox mated to the TCe 120 (1.2 L petrol) which is expected to be frugal with superior performance. There is also a smaller TCe 90 (0.9 L Petrol) motor in the list. As for as the diesel version is concerned, the dci 90 motor (1.5 L driveline used in many Indian offerings) is the highlight with reduced CO2 emissions and enhanced performance.
The Renault Captur will be manufactured at Renault’s Valladolid plant in Spain.
