TVS Motor Company has presented the TVS X21 at the Auto Expo 2016 in Greater Noida. It is a concept racer that is based on the recently launched TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
The TVS X21 is a semi-faired motorcycle that has been designed with race-ergonomics. It is powered by a modified version of the Apache 200's engine. It is a 212.4 cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor with a Single Over Head Camshaft (SOHC) and four valves, that has a twin oil-cooler for more efficient oil circulation and cooling. The engine is fed by twin straight flow air filters, and is connected to a twin free flow exhaust canisters. TVS has tuned the powerplant for more top-end power for a better track experience.
The racing concept features a lightweight and compact chassis with a low centre of mass, a telescopic fork, gas-filled monoshock on swingarm, steering damper, race levers and special race-specific components as a performance kit. Its instrument cluster comprises of a digital speedometer, digital tachometer, trip meter, clock, lap timing, acceleration timing and similar modes for performance tuning. The model showcases TVS Racing's technological and racing prowess.
