While we reported yesterday that the TVS Star City+ has entered production, its technical specifications and details are now available.
First up is the engine. It is known that the Star City+ uses the same 110 cc EcoThrust engine used in the TVS Wego and the TVS Jupiter. While the engine makes 7.88 hp for the Jupiter and 8 hp for the Wego, power has been very slightly upped, to 8.3 hp, for the Star City+.
The engine for the Star City+ makes 8.3 hp at 7,000 rpm and produces peak torque of 8.7 Nm at 5,000 rpm. It is mated to a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox. Torque output has also been increased, as the engine makes 8 Nm for both the scooter models at 5,500 rpm.
The Star City+ carries a single cradle tubular frame that is also used on the TVS Phoenix 125. The bike measures 1,980 mm in length, 1,080 mm in height, 750 mm in width and gets a wheelbase of 1,260 mm.
The front-end carries a telescopic oil damped suspension setup while the rear gets a 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorber. Both ends carry drum brakes of 130 mm diameter and 110 mm diameter respectively.
In terms of features, the bike gets a semi-digital speedometer cluster, stainless steel muffler guard, chrome finished handlebar and coloured shock absorbers to name a few.
Additional features on the City+ include electric start, alloy wheels, power/economy mode, service indicator, number plate illuminated lamp and a dual tone seat. The Star City+ launches in India in the coming weeks.
