Targets young ladies.
The TVS Scooty Zest 110 automatic scooter which was unveiled at the Auto Expo in February has been launched in India at INR 42,300 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The new Scooty Zest 110 targets young female customers and is positioned below its stablemates Jupiter and Wego. The design is an evolution of the Scooty Pep+. The instrument console with white background, wedge shaped rear end with boomerang turn indicators are the design highlights.
Power comes from the same 109.7 cc air-cooled engine that powers the Jupiter and Wego. Matched to a CVT, the motor puts out 8 PS (7.88 bhp) and 8.7 Nm of torque. The vehicle returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 62 km/l and its fuel tank can hold 5 litres.
The scooter has a kerb weight of 97 kg and can accelerate from 0-60 km/h in 11.1 seconds. The under seat storage compartment has a volume of 19 litres. In terms of dimensions, the Scooty Zest 110 measures 1,770 mm in length, 660 mm in width, 1,139 in height and 1,250 mm in wheelbase. Ride height is 760 mm.
The scooter is suspended by a telescopic fork upfront and a single sided shock at the rear. The front tyre is of size 90/100-10 while the rear tyre measures 90/90-10 (both are tubeless). Interestingly, the front and rear drum brakes measure 110 mm and 130 mm respectively. TVS says that the larger rear drum is to compensate the 40:60 weight distribution ratio.
Noteworthy features include LED taillight, open glove compartment, textured floor board, twilight lamps, backlit odometer and stainless steel muffler guard.
TVS' scooter sales have been growing by 54% as against the industry average of 29%. The introduction of the new Scooty Zest 110 is expected to add to the momentum. The company is planning to deliver 10,000 units in the first month.
