The TVS Max 125, has been launched in Indonesia during the Jakarta Fair. The bike is available in a regular variant for urban environment and an on-off road version to tackle rough terrain.
The Max brand name is very popular in India since the TVS-Suzuki days and currently is endowed to a 110 cc commuter.
The Indonesia spec model is nothing but the India-spec Star City + with new decals and different branding. The on-off road version is equipped with raised suspension and all-terrain tyres. Both the variants offer front disc brakes.
The Max 125 borrows its 125 cc motor from the Pheonix 125 rather than the 110 cc power plant from the Start City+. The engine develops 11 PS at 8,000 rpm and 10.8 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. Power transmission is through a 4-speed gearbox.
The TVS Max 125 is priced at 11.6 million Rupiah (around INR 64,150) for the urban variant and 12.9 million Rupiah (around INR 65,670) for the on-off road variant. For those who book the bikes at Jakarta Fair, the company offers a special discount of 1 million Rupiah (around INR 5,090).
PT TVS Motor Company Indonesia has a modest sales target for the Max twins at 150 units apiece every month.
