Rushlane reports that the TVS Graphite uses a 125 cc engine that is good for 11.5 hp. The scooter reportedly features GPS function in the instrument cluster.
The TVS Graphite was spotted testing in Bengaluru recently. The scooter comes with an apron-mounted halogen headlamp, with an LED DRL at the base. The instrument cluster is fully digital, and the screen is reportedly multifunctional. The switchgear features an engine kill switch as well. The scooter comes with an external fuel cap, just behind the seat. The tail light is LED, but the indicators are of bulb type. The front indicators are on the handlebar cowl.
In comparison, the Vespa’s 125cc 3-valve OHC engine makes 10.06 PS at 7,500 rpm. The Graphite’s engine will pair with a CVT transmission. The website reports that the TVS Graphite will be available in Matte Black, Matte Yellow, Matte Orange, and Matte Green.
TVS Motor showcased the concept version of the scooter at the 2014 Auto Expo. The technological innovation on the Graphite was its AMT gearbox with paddle shifters. It used an active LED console to display vital vehicle information, ride data and provide connectivity. Expect TVS to showcase the production version at the 2018 India Auto Expo, along with the 2018 TVS Apache RTR 160. The scooter would rival the Aprilia SR 125 and Honda Grazia in the sporty 125 cc scooter segment.
