The TVS Dazz, the Indian two-wheeler giant's first automatic step-through (fondly called as bebek) for the Indonesian market, was spotted testing in India once again. Team BHP's Facebook group member Mr. Vikaram Raj has clicked this disguised prototype testing in Hosur where TVS Motors has its mother plant.
Though the Dazz has been testing in India for quite some time, it is unlikely for the step-through to be launched here. TVS has a manufacturing facility in Indonesia which builds local market-specific products but majority of the R&D operations take place in India and that explains the bebek's presence in Hosur.
TVS could be testing a locally developed new component or an updated version of the powertrian. The TVS Dazz is powered by a 109.7 cc air-cooled engine which puts out 8.34 bhp and 8.3 Nm of torque. The same engine is used in India-spec TVS Star City+, Max4R, Jupiter and Wego, in slightly varying tunes.
The step-through is suspended by telescopic forks upfront and a single-side coil spring at the rear. The front wheel is retarded by a disc while the rear wheel makes do with a drum brake.
The refreshed TVS Dazz with an improved mechanical upgrade being tested here, could be launched in Indonesia next year.
