TVS Motor Company made several changes to its flagship motorcycle, the Apache RR310, and introduced the updated model last month. It seems that potential buyers held on to their money to buy the new model as the sales of the motorcycle tumbled to just 175 units in May. The updated TVS Apache RR310 was launched in the Indian market on 27 May.

The flagship TVS motorcycle's sales should improve this month. It has received several visual and mechanical upgrades aimed to enhance the rider experience. For starters, TVS has ironed out some of the vibration and noise issues with the use of fatter bar-end weight, new rubber pad for the visor and a redesigned chain roller. The company has remapped the ECU but kept the output figures unchanged.
The 312.2 cc reverse-inclined, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with fuel injection tech makes 34 PS at 9,700 rpm and 27.3 Nm of peak torque at 7,700 rpm. The motor continues being linked to a six-speed gearbox, although the MY2019 update has brought an assist/slipper clutch as standard. Owners of the pre-update models can retro-fit the assist/slipper clutch feature via TVS service centres for approximately INR 4,000. TVS claims that the assist feature reduces the clutch lever operating force by 20%.
The new bar-end weight, rubber padding for the visor and the updated chain roller were given to the existing owners without any additional cost.
In terms of styling, the 2019 Apache RR310 gets a new, Phantom Black (gloss finish) paint option that replaces the Racing Black colour (matte finish). The Racing Red paint stays, although the "35 Years of TVS Racing" lettering has been replaced with "RR310" branding on the rear panel.
Hardware specifications remain unchanged, and the 2019 TVS Apache RR310 continues to use upside-down telescopic front forks and monoshock at the back in the suspension department. Petal-type discs are tasked with the anchoring duties, while the safety net comprises dual-channel ABS.
