The TVS Apache RR 310S has been spied by a Rushlane reader in a new video. The faired motorcycle was spied at a petrol station along with the BMW G310R. Based on the TVS Akula 310 concept, the bike will be the most powerful series production TVS yet.
The TVS Apache RR 310S is expected to be powered by a 313 cc mill borrowed from the naked German roadster. The BMW G310R has an output of 34 hp of power and 28 Nm of torque. TVS though will be detuning the mill to churn out more usable power as per typical Indian riding conditions.
A spy shot of the vertically mounted instrumentation console shared earlier confirms that the bike will redline at around 9,000 rpm. Despite this, a video of a Bajaj Dominar 400 unable to keep up a TVS Apache RR 310S prototype talks about the mettle of the BMW powertrain.
Set to be TVS’ first fully faired motorcycle, the TVS Apache RR 310S will get several premium features. These include dual projector headlamps, upside down front fork, Michelin tyres and ABS. The indicator will get LEDs while the devil horn (Omega) shaped taillamp adds glamour to the bike. The tall step clip ons and foot peg position means a comfortable ride, especially on highways.
The TVS Apache RR 310S will do well to be positioned as a sports tourer. The motorcycle is expected to launch around August 2017 with a starting price of under INR 2 lakhs.
