The TVS Akula 310 concept's production version has been spied testing in India yet again, courtesy Maxabout. It will be the company's new flagship model and has been confirmed to launch this financial year.
'Akula' means 'Shark' in Russian. However, that's not the branding the company plans to carry forward when it brings the motorcycle to the market. The TVS Akula 310 concept's production version will reportedly be named TVS Apache RTR 300.
The TVS Apache RTR 300 will be the first production motorcycle from the company to greatly benefit from the strategic alliance with BMW Motorrad. The TVS Apache RTR 300 will be the mechanical twin of the BMW G310R, borrowing the latter's chassis and engine. Even the brakes, suspension and wheels are said to be shared.

The 313 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine develops 34 hp (25 kW) at 9,500 rpm and 21 lb.-ft. (28 Nm) of torque at 7,500 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed transmission in the BMW G310R. Maximum power and maximum torque, as well as what engine speed they're delivered at, could be altered for the TVS Apache RTR 300. TVS Motor reportedly plans to compete with the KTM RC 200, which means that it could be priced in the INR 1.50-1.75 lakh price bracket.
