Uses race-tuned version of BMW G310R's engine.
TVS Motor Company has unveiled their interpretation of the BMW G310R as a fully faired motorcycle named the TVS Akula 310 at the Auto Expo 2016 in Greater Noida. It is a race-spec motorcycle which will not enter production in the same avatar.
The Akula, which means Shark in Russian, is a racing concept that has been developed by their in-house racing division, TVS Racing. It has been unveiled celebrating the company's 33 years of history in racing.
The TVS Akula 310 uses the 310 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine with four valves that powers the BMW G310R, but retuned for the race track. The company hasn't released the power and torque specifications of the motor. On the BMW bike, the engine produces 34 bhp at 9,500 rpm, and 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm, and is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The bike features carbon fibre body work, inverted fork, aluminum trellis sub-frame, race-spec rear suspension, RAM air intake, gill-vents for better thermal efficiency, on-board gyro camera assist, aerodynamic drag reduction system and lightweight aluminium components.
