Triumph Motorcycles India has announced that it will add "another member to the family" on September 18. The brand currently sells 11 motorcycles in India about half of which are locally assembled.
Indian Autos Blog learns that the new family member in question is the Triumph Thunderbird LT (Light Touring) which was first showcased at the EICMA 2013 along with its less powerful sibling, the Thunderbird Commander.
The tourer which is closely related to the Thunderbird Storm can be differentiated by means of its triple headlights, windshield, detachable leather saddle bags and pillion backrest. These features are claimed to improve the motorcycle's touring capabilities.
The Thunderbird LT is powered by the Storm's 1,699 cc parallel-twin engine which is claimed to be the largest production motorcycle engine of its kind. The power and torque figures stand at 94 PS (92.6 bhp) and 151 Nm respectively. A 6-speed gearbox transmits the power.

Suspension duty is handled by a 47 mm Showa fork up front and twin Showa shocks at the rear with 5-way preload adjustment. The dual front disc are from Nissin while the single rear disc is supplied by Brembo, both benefiting from standard ABS.
The British two-wheeler make says that the Thunderbird LT comes with the "world's first white walled tyres."
The Triumph Thunderbird LT starts at USD 16,699 (around INR 10.16 lakhs) in the US market.
