Borrows plenty of parts and components from the Bolt/Zest.
PowerDrift has snapped the interior of the Tata Zica, which was revealed this morning by way of official images showing the front and rear design.
While some areas are covered, the Zica has previously revealed its dual-tone black-and-beige dashboard, with the hexagonal center console. A lot of parts and components appear to be borrowed from the Bolt/Zest. The three-spoke, short-diameter multifunction steering wheel, gear knob and power windows especially seem lifted from the Bolt/Zest.
Under the hood, the Zica is reported to get an all-new 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine (developed from the ground up), and a 1.05-liter three-cylinder diesel engine (a three-cylinder derivative of Tata's 1.4-liter unit). As the Zica targets the first-time buyer, Tata could choose to offer an automated manual transmission in addition to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Zica is based on a re-engineered version of the Indica's platform, and will target the likes of the Maruti Celerio, Hyundai i10 and Chevrolet Beat. According to reports, Tata will price the Zica aggressively with a starting price expected in the region of INR 3.6 lakhs.
