Sports a simple and functional design.
Following spyshots of the uncovered Tata Zica, new images from Autos Arena reveal the interior of the upcoming hatchback, which appears to have no connection to its spiritual predecessor, the Tata Indica.
The Tata Zica features an interior that looks cleaner and more contemporary than that of the Nano or the Indica. Apparently, the hexagonal center console with the audio and HVAC controls appears to be growing trend in interior design, as the same sits on the Maruti S-Cross and Mahindra TUV300.
The interior has a dual tone beige and black color combination, with piano black accents, new steering wheel design and silver instrument binnacles. Judging by images, the rear half of the cabin appears to have average knee room, silver-finished door handles and power windows.
The Tata Zica rides on the Tata Indica's platform, that has been extensively revised. It will debut two new engines: a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine will drive the car via a 5-speed manual transmission, while the diesel offering is reported to be a 1.05-liter three-cylinder unit, which could get manual or automated manual transmissions.
The Zica, which was earlier known by its codename 'Tata Kite' is Tata Motors’ true personal car offering in the lower B segment. It will move its crosshair on the Hyundai i10 and Maruti Celerio when it is launched in January.
Watch out for Indian Autos Blog's review of the Tata Zica in early December.
