Currently available only with 5-speed manual transmission.
The Tata Tiago, irrespective of the engine option selected, is available only with a 5-speed manual transmission. An AMT option was reported to come this festive season, but according to a fresh report from carandbike, the Tata Tiago AMT will go on sale in 2017.
Close competitor Maruti Celerio is already available with an automated manual transmission, and starting in early or mid-2017, the Tata Tiago will be available with this option. As of now, the company's focus is on the much bigger and premium product - the Tata Hexa.
The Tata Tiago AMT may get its turn only after the Tata Kite5, to be launched after the Tata Hexa. With the Renault Kwid AMT now soft-launched, Tata Motors would be keen to get its competitor out within the shortest time.

Tata Motors offer the automated manual transmission with a diesel engine (in the Zest), but in the Tiago, only the petrol engine will be available, it is reported.
