AMT to be introduced on the petrol variant of the hatchback, reportedly.
Autocar India has posted spyshots of the Tata Tiago AMT on test, ahead of its launch which is reported to take place in September this year. It is to be noted that Tata Motors confirmed an AMT option for the Tiago well ahead of its launch, but did not put a timeframe to it.
When launched with the AMT system, the Tiago will take the fight intensively towards the Maruti Celerio AMT and the Hyundai Grand i10 AT. Already, Tata has received over 22,000 bookings for the Tiago since its launch in the first week of April. Nearly 70 percent of these bookings are for the petrol variant, Tata Motors said.
The Tiago is also available with a 1.05-liter three-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine capable of 70 PS and 140 Nm of torque. The diesel Tiago achieves a fuel efficiency of 27.28 km/l.
