2014 marked the comeback year for Tata Motors. Apart from showcasing a host of new products and technologies at the Auto Expo, Tata also launched the much awaited Zest which has received stellar market response.
Tata will be playing its cards right this year as well, as below are the list of upcoming new car launches/refreshes it has planned.
1. Tata Bolt:
Starting the company's chapter for 2015 will be the Tata Bolt hatchback. Set to go on sale on January 20 according to some reports, the Bolt will be pitted in the premium hatchback segment, rivaling the likes of the Maruti Swift and Hyundai Elite i20. The first dealership demo/display vehicles have already started arriving so expect to see this new Tata at a showroom near you soon enough.
2. Tata Nano AMT and Active:
The Tata Nano is due to receive a facelift by the first half of this year. Key changes will include an openable hatch (a first on the Nano) and the option of an automated manual transmission (AMT). Tata already showcased both variants at the 2014 Auto Expo, and officials hint that a launch will take place very soon.
3. Tata Safari Storme Facelift:
A facelift for the Tata Safari Storme will launch this year with minor changes to the exterior, interior and mechanicals. Reports say that the Storme facelift will produce 10 bhp more from its 2.2-liter VariCOR engine, and that it will offer a front-facing bench type seat for third row passengers.
4. Tata Kite twins (codename):
Next on the anvil of Tata's 'all-new' cars are the Kite and a sub-4 meter sedan based on it. We expect to see the hatchback launch first this year followed by the sedan early next year. The Kite is based on the Indica's platform, and is reported to be powered by the new 1.2L petrol and 1.05L diesel engines.
