Bookings underway.
As the launch date of the Tata Bolt nears (January 20, 2015 reportedly), and as online bookings have already started, initial display and demo cars are finding their way to dealerships. Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Mohamed Shahid Hussain, spotted the first units of the car arriving at a showroom in South India.
Spotted here is the top-end petrol variant of the Bolt, the Bolt XT. Powering this variant is the 1.2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which makes 90 PS and 140 Nm of torque, and is matched to a 5-speed manual transmission. The petrol variant also gets three driving modes, namely City, Eco and Sport.
The Bolt diesel is powered by a Fiat-sourced 1.3-liter MultiJet engine which develops 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque, and gets a 5-speed manual transmission. An automated manual transmission (AMT) is not offered on the hatchback for now, but could find its place later on.
Features such as projector headlights, foglights, alloy wheels, rear wiper and washer, central locking, electrically-adjustable wing mirrors, multifunction steering wheel, voice recognition, touchscreen infotainment system with 8-speakers and navigation support, automatic climate control, dual airbags, ABS and EBD will be available on the top-end variant.
The Bolt can be exclusively booked online for INR 11,000.
