The Tata Kite (codename) small car which will slot below the upcoming Bolt to take on the likes of Celerio and Grand i10 has been spotted testing once again, by Motorbeam reader Mr. Abhinit.
Expected to be ready for a market launch in the later part of next year, the Kite is based on the modernized version of the Indica's platform and is expected to replace the aging hatchback.
Though the prototype is fully disguised, the silhouette is similar to that of the Indica but the Kite will sport a comprehensively revamped interior and exterior design. One of the spyshot partially reveals the dashboard design of the new small car which appears to have been heavily revised compared to the Indica.
Powertrain details are unavailable as of now but expect compact, fuel efficient petrol and diesel motors to be in the offing. Given that Tata is betting big on the AMT technology, it's safe to assume that there will be at least one variant of the Kite with the automated gearbox.
