Could launch in H1 2017.
The Tata Kite 5 sedan was spied testing near Pune by IAB reader, P.K Gautam. The Tiago-based sedan is expected to launch in H1 2017, although Tata Motors is yet to confirm a launch date or month.
The photograph features the rear-end of Tata's next sub-4m sedan, sporting small wraparound taillamps, a long LED strip as the third-brake light, and a conventional radio antenna rather than a shark-fin unit. This particular Kite 5 test mule appears to finished in Tiago's Striker Blue color.
Tata is also yet to reveal the final specs of the Kite 5. As it's based on the Tiago hatchback, we expect the Kite 5 to come with the 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder petrol engine or 1.05-litre Revotorq three-cylinder engine, which will be paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. A 5-speed AMT option spotted recently in the Tiago could be available at launch.
A report from the previous month stated that the Kite 5 could be christened as the Tata Viago or Tata Altigo when it goes on sale, which rhyme with the Tata Tiago.
