To be launched early next year.
A Tata Hexa prototype has been snapped near Lavasa by a Team-BHP user GeeTee TSI who has said that it was accompanied by a Tata Aria. The model is expected to be launched early next year as the flagship passenger vehicle from the company, very likely at the Auto Expo.
Previewed by the Tata Hexa concept at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the SUV is a mere repurposed Tata Aria. Set to rival the Mahindra XUV500, the higher variants of the Mahindra Scorpio, the Hyundai Creta, the Maruti S-Cross and the Renault Duster, the Tata Hexa will be offered with the familiar 2.2-litre four-cylinder VARICOR 400 diesel engine that produces 154.2 hp at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm at 1,700–2,700 rpm. It will be offered with the choice of a 6-speed manual gearbox or a GM-sourced 6-speed automatic transmission. A 4-Wheel Drive system with a drive mode selector will be offered on the high-end variants.
The salient features on the Hexa will include projector headlamps with auto function, LED tail lamps, a choice of a 7-seat configuration or a 6-seat arrangement (with captain seats on the second row), leather upholstery with twin-needle stitching, mood lighting, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, and ESP (Electronic Stability Program).
