Another spy shot of Tata's upcoming Land Rover Discovery Sport based SUV has surfaced online. The Tata H5 aka Tata Q501 is will be making its debut at the Auto Expo this week in pre-production form.
In terms of design, the SUV will follow the latest iteration of Tata’s Impact design language. Based on teaser images released by Tata and previous spy shots, IAB has created a rendering of the upcoming vehicle (pictured below). The nose section features slim headlight connected via the “Humanity Line” flowing along the bottom edge of the grille. The alloy wheels worn by the test mule as seen in the latest spy shot, could be production spec. It has a sporty profile thanks to the sloping roofline.
The Tata H5 aka Tata Harrier will use the Land Rover Discovery Sport’s platform. A recent report suggests the SUV will feature an all-independent suspension setup and steering gear in a similar configuration to the Discovery Sport. There will be 5-seat and 7-seat version of the H5 on sale.

The 5-seat and 7-seat variants of the upcoming Tata SUV could target the Jeep Compass and the Mahindra XUV500 respectively. While both variants will get the same 2.0 L Fiat sourced diesel engine, the 7-seat variant will get it in a higher state of tuning churning out 180 hp as opposed to an output of 140 hp for the 5-seat variant.
