Vitara Brezza is based on a shortened platform of the Vitara.
Although the Suzuki Vitara is not sold in India, here's how Suzuki's global SUV compares to its Indian cousin - the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
The exterior of the SUVs share very few similarities, like a dual-tone color scheme, similar type of body cladding, and bumper design. The Suzuki Vitara has a more premium and sleeker exterior design, while the Vitara Brezza features a neutral styling expected to appeal to all tastes.
The Vitara is 180 mm longer and 30 mm taller than the Vitara Brezza, although it's 15 mm narrower. The models have an identical wheelbase of 2,500 mm, and the Brezza is hoisted on wheels an inch smaller (16-inch) than the Vitara. Boot space of the Vitara is 375 liters as opposed to 328 of the Brezza, while ground clearance comes in at 185 mm and 198 mm respectively.
Like the exterior, the Vitara's interior has a more premium touch. Some of the features not shared with the Vitara Brezza include a panoramic sunroof, analogue timepiece on the center console, Adaptive cruise control, and seven airbags.
Customers of the Vitara also have the option of the body-color trim on the dashboard, which is not available in the Vitara Brezza. However, Maruti has introduced 'iCreate' for the Vitara Brezza, which allows customers to personalize with 90 accessory combinations.
As for engine options, the Vitara Brezza is only available with a 1.3L DDiS turbodiesel engine, while its bigger brother is available with a variety of engine options that include a 1.6L VVT petrol, 1.4L Boosterjet petrol (Vitara S), and a 1.6L four cylinder turbodiesel engine.
