BikeAdvice reports that Suzuki is planning to bring in a sporty 125cc scooter in the country within two months.

2018 Suzuki Swish scooter
The 2018 Swish is radically different from the previous generation version.

As per the website’s source, the upcoming sporty scooter is also likely to share many parts, presumably with the existing Access 125. The design will reportedly be different from the Access. It is likely that the upcoming scooter will be the 2018 Suzuki Swish.

The 2018 Swish made its global debut at the 2017 EICMA show held in Milan, Italy.

The scooter has an all-new bodywork design. It is now much sharper, with angular design elements on the apron. Suzuki has mounted the headlight on the apron, as opposed to the handlebar in the previous generation scooter. The indicators and DRLs flank the headlight, and the lighting system is all LED. The tail light and the rear indicator are also neatly integrated into the bodywork. The pillion seat is raised and comes with split grab handles. The pillion footpeg sits flush into the body.

The scooter features a storage compartment in the apron, apart from the underseat cargo space.

The instrument cluster is all-digital, and the scooter features a front fuel filler lid. Coming to the cycle parts, the 2018 Suzuki Swish employs telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. Brakes include disc at the front and drum unit at the rear. Suzuki has not revealed the engine specifications for this scooter, but it is likely to be a 125cc unit with a CVT gearbox.

It is also possible that the upcoming 125cc scooter may not be the 2018 Swish, but a new product designed for India. Expect more details in the coming weeks. If the Japanese brand launches the scooter, it will go head-to-head against the recently launched Honda Grazia, which is the only sporty 125cc scooter in the segment.
