[Note that this SUV may not come to India as it is the production version of the Europe-centered Suzuki iv-4 and not the XA Alpha.]
Paul Daryaei, a reader of Car Advice, spotted the production version of the Suzuki iv-4 undergoing tests near Munich in Germany. The iv-4 Concept made its global debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September last year, and is announced to go into production next year.
The iV-4, or the 'Individuality Vehicle 4×4' is a light-weight crossover with one of the lowest CO2 emissions in its class, according to the Japanese company. It measures 4.21 meters in length, 1.85 meters in width and 1.66 meters in height.
The iv-4 will launch in Europe next year, and will roll out from Suzuki's Magyar plant in Hungary. The crossover will get Suzuki's second generation all-wheel drive system called 'ALLGRIP', and power could be sourced from 1.6-liter petrol and diesel engines. The iv-4 will be positioned above the SX4 S-Cross, which is confirmed to launch in India early next year.
Apart from the S-Cross, India is slated to get the XA-Alpha, a sub-4 meter SUV, which was unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo in the concept car guise. The launch of the XA-Alpha is unlikely to take place for another year.
