Bookings for the ABS-equipped variant of the Suzuki Gixxer SF are now open. The booking amount varies from INR 5,000 to INR 10,000, depending on the dealer. The expected price stands at INR 1,05,000, on-road, Delhi. The dealers in Delhi say that the waiting period is approximately 15 days. Dealers IAB spoke to in Bengaluru state that the first bike will be delivered by the end of this week. Expect Suzuki to release info in the coming days officially.
Powering the Suzuki Gixxer SF is a 154.9 cc SOHC, 2-valve fuel-injected heart. The powerplant generates 14.8 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. Fuel injection helps in convenient cold starts and also results in cleaner emissions. A 5-speed transmission does duty on the bike.
The motorcycle employs 41 mm traditional forks at the front and a seven-step adjustable monoshock at the rear. The 17-inch alloys are shod with a 100-section front and a 140-section rear tyre.
For braking, the bike uses a 266 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc. The addition of ABS improves the bike’s handling considerably as it prevents brake lock up during panic braking. Expect Suzuki to launch the bike with single channel ABS to keep the cost competitive.
