After the launches of fuel-injected and rear disc brake-equipped Gixxer SF, Suzuki is all set to introduce the ABS version of the bike, according to leaked brochure scans. The ABS variant will be the top-end model, complete with redesigned body graphics, disc brakes on both ends and fuel injection system.
The Suzuki Gixxer SF ABS will continue to sport the 154.9cc SOHC, 2-valve fuel-injected engine. The powerplant produces 14.8 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. Fuel injection helps in convenient cold starts and also results in the reduction of emission. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.

When it comes to suspension, the bike uses 41 mm traditional forks at the front and a seven-step adjustable monoshock at the rear. Stopping power is provided by 266 mm front and a 240 mm rear disc, both linked with ABS. ABS improves the bike’s handling to a considerable extent by preventing the locking up during panic braking.
The 17-inch alloys are shod with a 100-section front and a 140-section rear tyre. The fuel-injected version of the Gixxer SF is priced at INR 93,032, ex-showroom, Delhi. Expect the ABS variant to command a premium of around INR 20,000. When launched, it will be the smallest capacity motorcycle to be equipped with ABS in India.
