Suzuki India has released a teaser image for a new product launch that will happen on 20 May. Reports suggest that we are looking at the Suzuki Gixxer 250 in this picture.

As per a report from earlier this month, Suzuki will launch the Gixxer 250 in May and that a fully-faired version called Gixxer 250 SF will follow later. The Suzuki Gixxer 250 will lock horns with the Yamaha FZ25, while the Gixxer 250 SF will compete with the Yamaha Fazer 250.
The quarter-litre Suzuki Gixxer duo will feature a single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled, 2-valve engine. A liquid cooled motor adds a radiator to the package that pushes up the cost further and affects the final price. With a maximum output of 20-23 PS, the performance isn't expected to be the best in class. The engine may feature fuel injection and comply with BS-VI emission norms.
The teaser image does not reveal many details about the styling cues, although we expect to see Haojue DR300 (a.k.a. Suzuki GSX-S300) inspired visuals. The Full-LED headlight and tail lamp and a fully-digital display are among the expected key features of the Gixxer 250 duo.
Unlike the Haojue DR300, the Suzuki Gixxer 250 will use conventional telescopic front forks to keep the costs low. Braking setup will include disc brakes on both wheels, while the safety net of dual-channel ABS will come as standard. Do note that the Yamaha FZ25 and Fazer 250 come with dual-channel ABS.

Suzuki will aim to introduce the Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer 250 SF in the same price range as the Yamaha FZ-25 and the Fazer 250. Thus, we expect to see a sub-INR 1.40 lakh* price tag for the naked roadster and approximately INR 1.50 lakh* for the fully-faired model.
