Expected to go on sale in China next year.

Along with the Suzuki GSX250R, Suzuki unveiled the Suzuki DL250 (Suzuki V-Strom 250) in China earlier this week. Unlike the former, the adventure tourer is a concept.

Suzuki DL250 (V-Strom 250) concept front three quarters debut event
The Suzuki DL250 (V-Strom 250) concept is powered by the same 18.4 kW (24.66 hp) 248 cc engine as the Suzuki GSX250.

The Suzuki DL250 (V-Strom 250) concept measures 2,150 mm in length, 790 mm in width and 1,305 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,430 mm. It has a minimum ground clearance of 160 mm and a seat height of 780 mm. The quarter-litre class dual-sport motorcycle weighs 192 kg.

The Suzuki V-Strom 250 concept is powered by a 248 cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that develops 18.4 kW at 8,000 rpm and 23.4 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. This is the same engine employed in the GSX250R, and the power and torque outputs as well as the compression ratio are unchanged for the DL250 concept. Both wheels are alloys, but the production version may change into spoke wheels. The concept motorcycle is equipped with ABS, but it's unknown if it's switchable.

The Suzuki DL250 (V-Strom 250) is expected to break into China sometime next year. The DL250 (V-Strom 250) and GSX250R are not likely to launch in India. The Inazuma 250 flopped and was discontinued after being sold at steep discounts, and this could be the reason why single-cylinder models at the low-end and high-end imported models could be Suzuki's best strategy for the Indian market.
