The Ssangyong Tivoli has been long rumored to make its entry into India, ever since it was launched in the Korean market earlier this year. Thus far, parent company Mahindra has not given a definitive answer to its introduction in India, though company officials did not rule out the model entirely.
If the Tivoli makes it to the Indian market, expect the compact SUV to pack the e-XDi 160 1.6-liter diesel engine. In the Euro-spec model, it produces 115 PS and 300 Nm of torque between 1,500-2,500 rpm range, and is paired to a 6-speed Aisin automatic gearbox or a manual transmission.
The Tivoli is also offered with a 1.6-liter petrol engine developing 128 PS and 160 Nm of torque, paired to manual and automatic transmissions. In the UK market, the Tivoli petrol is offered as a 4x2 whereas the diesel gets 4x2 and 4x4 options.

In the Indian market, it will rival compact crossovers like the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and even parent company offering, the Mahindra Scorpio. It could follow the Rexton's path, and be locally assembled at one of Mahindra's plants in India. Mahindra could showcase the Tivoli at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016.
