BMW's main agenda for the next two years is to revise, update and facelift every car in their current portfolio.

The X1 and X6 have been facelifted already and we had brought you the news of the 5 Series and Z4 facelifts recently. The fifth Beemer is the X5, however it is not just a facelift but an all new model.
The X5 has been here for quite sometime and definitely needs a thorough rework. A Youtube user by the name Frank Steele has managed to tape a convoy of camouflaged BMW X5s that were being tested in Chamblee, Georgia.
On close observation, you can notice that the headlamps of the test mules are reminiscent to that of the F30 3 Series sedan. The headlamps flowing into the kidney grill is slowly becoming the new family look of the BMW cars and the 5 Series facelift too is expected to carry similar headlamp and grill design.
The rear of the new BMW X5 has been slightly tweaked. The tail lamp shapes are new and are similar to that of the BMW X1.
The next generation X5 whose official code name is F15 will be based on a new platform which is expected to be lighter than the current car by around 150 kg.
The next gen BMW X5 is expected to be unveiled sometime in 2014.
