TVS Racing, the motorsport division of TVS Motor Company, has joined hands with the French off-road motorcycle specialist Sherco to participate in the grueling Dakar Rally 2015.
The two entities have formed the Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team which has appointed French riders Alain Dulcos and Fabien Planet as protagonists for what is widely accepted as the toughest two-wheeler rally in the world.
The Dakar Rally 2015 will take place between 3 January 2015 and 17 January 2015, starting in Argentina, passing through Bolivia and culminating in Chile.
The Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team will field two off-road racers which are named RTR 450. The racing machines were developed and manufactured by Sherco in association with TVS.
A team of TVS Racing engineers will be working at the Dakar Rally 2015 along with Sherco and its racing affiliates. The Indian automaker says that the new venture would bring in significant learning and experience of the international motorsport arena which will be useful in developing top-quality high-performance motorcycles for the road.
