Scoop: 2020 Hyundai ix25 (2020 Hyundai Creta) specs & features revealed

Recently, IAB's exclusive spy shots indicated that the 2020 Hyundai ix25 (2020 Hyundai Creta) will be identical to the 2020 Hyundai ix25. Now, the 2020 Hyundai ix25's specs and features, as well as new images, have leaked.

The 2020 Hyundai ix25 will measure 4,300 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width and 1,620 mm/1,635 mm in height. Compared to the first-gen model, it is longer and wider by 10 mm, but the height has been reduced ranging from 2 mm to 11 mm depending on the configuration. Its wheelbase measures 2,610 mm which is 20 mm longer than the outgoing model.  The front and rear overhangs measure 840 mm and 850 mm, respectively.

In terms of interiors, the new Creta will be significantly improved for more comfort and luxury. Its updated cabin will include a floating centre console which merges into the floor console and comes with a large portrait-style touchscreen infotainment system. It will be kitted with features like a panoramic sunroof, shark fin antenna, split LED headlights and split LED rear combination lamps as well. One of the latest images shows a front camera as well, indicating that the feature list will include a 360-degree camera system for easy parking. There will also be an electric parking brake instead of the manual lever on the current model.

In terms of mechanicals, the G4FL 1.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine which churns out 84.4 kW (114.75 PS) of maximum power and 144 Nm of peak torque has been confirmed. Its fuel consumption rating stands at 5.3 L/100 km (18.86 km/L)/5.8L/100 km (17.24 km/L), while the top speed is 172 km/h/175 km/h. There won't be a 4WD option, and power will be transferred only to the front wheels. In addition to the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine from the Kia Seltos, the model sold in India will come with even the (115 PS/250 Nm), and maybe even the Hyundai Venue's Venue's 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine (120 PS/172 Nm).

A 7-seat version of the next-gen Hyundai Creta is also on the cards, and it is said to debut in 2021. It may be offered with the Kia Seltos' 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine (140 PS/242 Nm) instead of the 1.0L engine, in addition to the 1.5L engines.

The 2020 Hyundai Creta will weigh 1,200 kg/1,150 kg and will be equipped with tyres measuring 205/65R16/215/60R17.
